Mark Nelson is a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) specialising in residential design and construction with particular expertise in the sound technical performance of buildings. He is also a Certified Passive House Designer and accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) experienced in energy efficient building design and sustainable construction.
Graduating with first class honours in Architectural Technology and Management from the University of Ulster, he commenced his architectural career at McGurk Chartered Architects, were he was involved in a wide range of projects within the private, community, education, sport & leisure, industrial and commercial sectors.
Prior to establishing his own practice in 2015, he spent several years at Chris McCollum Building Conservation Surveyors, working exclusively on the conservation, repair, restoration and adaptation of historic listed buildings and structures throughout Northern Ireland using traditional materials and construction techniques.
Mark’s attention to detail ensures the successful delivery of projects, a quality that is recognised by his fellow professionals. As well as running his own projects, he also provides freelance technical design & energy services to several of Northern Irelands most exciting Architects, and was involved in the ‘Grillagh Water House' featured on Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’.
